The XLIVE Esports Summit, slated for June 25–27, 2019, at Hudson Loft in downtown Los Angeles, is designed to bring together in one critical mass members of the growing esports ecosystem and community. The event provides a platform for esports executives and others to review the current state of the industry and continue the debate about its future direction.
The summit — the only conference catering to both endemic and nonendemic brands –– is open to team owners, tournament organizers, sponsors, investors, game publishers, streaming platforms, the media and consultants, as well as other support professionals, technology providers, talent agencies, product developers and organizations serving the esports community. By bringing together operatives from disparate areas, organizers of the XLIVE Esports Summit are hoping to nurture and develop the growing esports ecosystem and community.
The summit will feature presentations on current trends in the esports industry and on ways to increase fan engagement, develop and nurture talent, implement new technologies and monetization strategies, develop brand partnerships and much, much more. These factors are crucial ones for esports ventures to master, as over 80% of market revenues in esports are derived from advertising, media rights and sponsorships. In 2019, global esports market revenues are expected to cross the $1 billion mark.
Presenters at the XLIVE Esports Summit include Matt Devuono, executive director of esports programming and events at the World Gaming Network; Sid Fohrman, partner at Sheppard Mullin; Ryan Garfat, senior editor at ESPN; Mike Kinney, managing director of Extra Life at the Children’s Miracle Network; Matty Lee, head of partnerships at 100 Thieves; James O’Connor, president and co-founder of the Pittsburgh Knights; Mario Pacini, VP of entertainment at Walmart.com; Ryan Ruden, SVP at Columbia Records|Sony Music; and an estimated 60 more top esports executives. At least three representatives from the United Talent Agency will be on the lookout at the event.
Venue for the XLIVE Esports Summit is the Hudson Loft, a photo, film, and event space located in the South Park district of downtown LA, two blocks east of the Staples Center and LA Live, off of 12th & Hope.
