FinovateWest2020 Goes Digital to Keep Fintech Community Safe
The 2020 Finovate West Conference, previously planned for Nov, 23–24 at the Hilton San Francisco Union Square, is now a completely virtual event. The agenda and activities remain the same, but the event has gone digital, and new dates — Nov. 23–25 — have been set for the virtual event. Flare-ups in a number of states are a grim reminder of the persistence and perniciousness of the pandemic, which has killed hundreds of thousands around the world. Mindful of the risks posed by travelling and assembling in large gatherings, organizers of the Finovate conference series have recast FinovateWest2020as an online-only event. A 20% discount on tickets for early-birds registration is available here: https://bit.ly/3bK32l7.
Conference participants can expect levels of interaction similar to physical Finovate events. The digital three-day event is expected to welcome even more than the 1,100 who were anticipated to gather in San Francisco for the original event. Taking part in a video conference is undoubtedly easier than to traveling to attend in person.
Participants can look forward to a series of insightful addresses from domain experts, as well as a number of captivating product demos from over 60 companies. In short-form demos lasting around seven minutes, each presenting company will get its moment in the sun, an opportunity to pitch its prospects to the wider investment community. As with previous Finovate conferences, many of those participating will be senior fintech executives from financial institutions, some 270 of whom are expected to take part.
Speakers scheduled to address “attendees,” all of whom will do so remotely, include Amar Ahluwalia, Terry Angelos, Mathieu Auger-Perreault and Talie Baker. Ahluwalia is an experienced M&A and corporate strategist, formerly of BMO Capital Markets. Angelos is a senior VP and global head of fintech at Visa. Auger-Perreault is director of fraud & security at Javelin Strategy & Research. And Baker is a senior analyst, retail banking & payments at Aite Group
