The sixth annual New England Cannabis Convention (NECANN) is alive and well. Originally planned to take place March 20–22, 2020, the event was postponed because of the public health risks posed by the coronavirus pandemic. The premier gathering has now been rescheduled for September 10–12, 2021. The venue — the Hynes Convention Center in Boston — remains the same.
NECANN events have become sites of pilgrimage for cannabis growers, sellers and consumers across the region. At the last event held in March 2019, NECANN Boston attracted more than 10,000 attendees, and organizers expect that figure to be exceeded in 2021. The Massachusetts recreational market is set to grow at an astounding compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 99.21%, from $16 million in 2018 to roughly $1 billion by 2024 (https://www.nnw.fm/Kq58M).
Since its inception in 2014, the NECANN conference series has proved its worth to the cannabis community. The event’s inclusive, collaborative approach has resulted in satisfying experiences for sponsors, exhibitors and attendees alike, and has helped operators across all sectors of the cannabis space grow their businesses. NECANN 2019 attracted 300-plus exhibitors and more than 100 expert speakers; the 2021 convention is anticipated to take its place as the “largest NE cannabis convention ever.”
NECANN has been shining the spotlight on local cannabis enterprises for six years. Its conventions typically feature industry professionals from around the world, and NECANN Boston 2021 promises to be no different. The event will showcase a wide and diverse range of companies, brands and product lines. Presenting companies will come from several sectors, including equipment, lighting, nutrients, greenhouses, supplies, tools, and lifestyle, as well as services such as legal, HVAC, IT, packaging, labeling, security, real estate, staffing, HR, and brokerage.
NECANN Boston 2021 is an outstanding opportunity for those in the cannabis industry to promote their existing businesses, sell their products and engage directly with consumers. The convention is also an ideal event for newcomers to learn more about the cannabis space; network with growers, consumers and investors; and find out how legalization of cannabis is playing out in Massachusetts.
